The June Trade Fair Exhibition
by the
MaltaSociety of Arts and Culture
( June 2004 Trade Fair at Naxxar )
This was, let
say , the opening of my ambition. Excited
to my first art appearance to the public, to be honest very afraid.
But soon turned to joy, as the first painting
was immediately sold soon after the inauguration of the exhibition and to my surprise,
I realised it was one from the three pieces that I participated with. I also noticed
that people stopped and glanced at my work whenever they passed by. I studied every single
reaction, of admiration. All this had
boosted my moral to continue on the line that I started with. That is classical
painting with Oil on Canvas.

The 3rd National
Art Competition by the
Malta
Malta Society of Arts and Culture
(December 2004 Trade Fair at Naxxar)
On that same year, for
the second time I took part for this exhibitions.
Again, still afraid about the outcome, but a bit more optimistic from the
first. The standard was very high. I murmured to my wife Lillian and son, regarding
the portrait of the Xwejha. It looked
to me that it is not being admired among the public, but to them I was totally mad
and wrong. The feed back from the organisers,
proved to me how wrong again I was. Though I did not sell that piece and I still
owe it, people got to know me by this portrait.(Il-Pittur tax-Xiha).
For this exhibition
I also competed with Triq fl-Mdina.
For which there were plenty of requests, but turned down as it was sold on the first evening.

A Blend of Fantasy and Reality
of Mixed Media ( May 9 –20/2005 at Palazzo De La Salle,
Valletta
)
For the Year 2005, it
was an intensive one. It all started after receiving a call from Mr. Joe Scerri,
the Malta Society of Arts,
Manufactures & Commerce secretary, offering their premises, free of charge to
hold a personal exhibition. Thanks to him and the president of the Society, Mr.
Paul Axiaq, they managed to meet me
with two other fantastic artists, Charles Bonnici, experienced stone sculptor and
painter and Etienne Vassallo a young prominent painter.
Together we exhibited about 55 pieces of art.
For the first time I exhibited my pencil work, which impressed all those who say
these pieces of art, for the details and shadows applied. A total of 35pieces of
art were my own work.
The Hon. Minister Mr. Francis Zammit Dimech inaugurated this exhibition. He had
also the time to lead him personally on our works.
